2026 Christmas Market Members Crèche
What is it?
We are again holding a Market Crèche as part of our annual Christmas Craft Market.
The Clay Crèche is a stepping stone for our Members who are interested in selling their work and raising a bit of money to go towards their ongoing pottery practice. This initiative is for members who may not yet feel ready to take a full table or marquee at a market but is an opportunity to take that first step.

When and where is it?
The Members Market Crèche will take place inside the GCPA Benowa Studio during the 2026 Christmas Market to be held on Sunday 29 November 2026.
On the Day
- Room open and participant set up between 7:15am-7:45am. The market runs from 8am and participants must be fully set up for this time.
- You are asked to park on the street or across the road and to carry/trolley your items into the studio.
- Participants will be allocated a small table square – a ‘selling space’ for their pieces.
- The size of the selling space will be dependent on participant numbers, but is intended to be a small representation presented in a friendly environment with other ‘first timers’.
- Storage to hold one reasonably sized box of work will be available under the tables for each participant.
- Crèche participants are asked to stay at the market for the duration of the event. There will be opportunities for you to have other participants oversee your table so that you can take a break and have a look around.
- The sales process will be up to individuals and you can either download a ‘sales square’ app or provide bank transfer details.
Your Pieces
- A minimum price point of $20 for each of your items is recommended to maintain the overall quality and integrity of the market.
- Displays and table stands cannot be used and this is to ensure that all participants are equally presented.
Cost
- A non-refundable $10 fee per selling square for GCPA members only. Other GCPA students can become full members to qualify (details on our webpage).
- As full members, you will be covered under our public liability insurance.
- A waitlist is available once all spots are reserved and there will be a minimum number of participants for the Clay Crèche to proceed.
- The Crèche is a one-time opportunity for participants as an introduction to the markets and the possibility of selling as a business in the future.
- As this is for hobbyists, an ABN is not required and GST is not a consideration.
